Most of the time when I get a call the first question is “How much will it cost?”
My answer is “It depends.”
I don’t know the initial costs of marketing a website while having the first phone call. I will need to look at your site first and know where you are going and what you see as success. Is success visitor numbers or sales? They are often the same, though not always.
I need to know any stats you have, any keywords you have targeted in the past, who your top 5 or 10 main competitors are, what markets you are targeting geographically.
I need your domain name and I will call or email once I have had a chance to look at it. In some cases I cannot help. If your website is brand new there is no way that I can get you competing for good key phrases, though I can build some information that will help your website in the next 6 to 12 months.
How Long Will SEO Take?
I work fairly quickly, most small sites only take a couple of weeks. Waiting for your website to get the boost from this work though can take quite a while. If your site is not listing for the key phrases before you start it can often take 3 - 9 months - it depends on how competitive these phrases are. If your website is sitting on the second or third page of the search results, you can often be in the first page within a month or so - though not always.
Once I have looked at a site I can detail the cost. The structure of my costs are an up-front payment and the balance after achieving the results agreed at the start.
